Who Am I?

I am a first generation South African, currently living in the UK. I graduated in 2005 with First Class Honours in Computer Information Systems from The University of Bath. I work for Procter & Gamble as an Information & Decision Solutions manager, which started with a most excellent internship in the summer of 2002. For details of my professional experience, please visit my LinkedIn profile.

My wife and I moved to Newcastle over a year ago, where we’ve bought a flat, got a dog and gotten married at last. Previously I studied and lived in Bath, but have also lived in various places around the country, including Market Bosworth (nr Leicester), Surbiton and Woking (nr London). I was born in Durban, South Africa, and lived near there for a while as a young child, whereafter the family moved to the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. I later attended school in Stellenbosch, which is probably my favourite place on earth. Ironically I primarily left South Africa because I find the heat difficult to bear and so England is a perfect alternative!

So, What is This Then?

This domain hosts my personal site, the main feature of which is the blog, which is basically a online commentary in a particular format (see here for Google’s opinion on the matter). I blog about various different things — my main interests in techie terms are things like web and systems design, human computer interaction and usability; I will also blog from time-to-time about other things that interest me, such as health, gay politics and the business world. If you want to chat about anything, feel free to get in touch.
