“Boss! Look Busy!” — LOL. Last time I remember seeing a “boss button” on a game was easily 10 years ago!

Nice idea — gets you numbers that you can use free landline allowance on -
“It’s really scary to turn down most (the average) of what comes your way and hold out for the remarkable opportunities. Scary to quit your job at an average company doing average work just because you know that if you stay, you’ll end up just like them.”

Check out Scott’s new “Live Search” feature on the top right — very cool!

Saul’s written a great post talking about all the web-based products he uses to support his company. Some interesting new products I hadn’t seen before and even more interesting rationale for some of the choices.

Can’t take credit for the Live Search, I’m afraid — it comes as standard with Typo (http://www.typosphere.org), a blog platform build with Ruby on Rails.
Live Search didn’t work in the old theme I was using, but I had to revert to the default theme following the latest set of updates, so that’s why you may not have seen it on my site before…

This article irritated me immensely. Yes we need some big changes, but they aren’t going to happen overnight and preaching to the average citizen that it’s not worth them recycling/whatever because its a token gesture is going to mean the majority of people do absolutely nothing. Very counterproductive.

@ Dave: I agree that people do need to do everyday things that will be helpful. But equally, I agree with the central point of the article: if people are just being placated with those small changes and those with the ability to make the big changes stop feeling pressured to do so, then it is counter-productive and akin to sifting sand whilst the tide comes in.
