Glad you all like it Lucy, feedback is very welcome — you don’t need to solve any problems, we do! Aliasing is when you get weird artefacts in an image because it’s digitally sampled (so there are discrete points rather than a continuous signal) — what the others were referring to was the MW looking slightly “jaggy”, so rather than having straight smooth lines, they were sort of a step pattern. Anti-aliasing is just a general term for a load of techniques to reduce this sort of visual artefact.

Looks great you two. And if I wanted to suggest there was something that needed altering, I would be too embarrassed since I wouldn’t be able to tell you which tag or whatever was causing the problem! What is anti-aliasing please miss?

…and now I’ve posted, the main box has suddenly shrunk width to about 250 pixels which is novel I guess, but probably not what you were wanting (this is using Opera by the way)

Great new look. In your title, the words “Usability, where academia meets profitability, web and systems design” are slightly difficult to read, but I’m just being a pedant and looking for something to comment on. Other than that, love it

I get a horizontal scroll bar at anything less than 1024 (which means anything not fullscreen on my laptop!). Pretty sure it’s div#namebanner – *checks CSS* – probably is, but I can’t tell you why at this time of the morning.

Other than that though, very good. Maybe I should commission Elly to do mine too! (The logo could do with a bit of anti-aliasing, as Fatty points out.) Why is it when someone redesigns I can never remember what it looked like before hand, hence having nothing to compare it too?!

Oooh, ver’ shiny – just a couple of comments on the design:

Some anti-aliasing might be nice on the “MW” logo, it looks kinda jaggy.
With a viewport width less than about 1015 pixels, I get a horizontal scroll bar – not fully sure why, but it could point to some strange oddity in the design.

Other than that, love the design – and not just because my sister designed it.
