We were recently hiring someone for an IT position. There were about fifty applicants of whom only one was a woman. I found that a bit shocking really – it was, for example, a much more extreme ratio than in my computer science lectures.

Surely there’s no such thing as a decent job which involves wearing a tie – even for the interview 😉
